Kiddies Lounge | Pre-School Day Nursery

Development Strategy:

As part of our Childcare principles, we operate a key worker system. We assign each Child to a key worker who carries out monthly observations on your Child in association with the Birth to three matters framework and the Early Years Foundation stage curriculum alongside three monthly developmental charts.

The developmental charts enable us to record and monitor your Child’s achievements in each of the six areas of learning and development. It also helps us plan activities and provide resources that will enhance each individual Child’s learning and development and then provide fed back to the parents. These are logged and kept within your Child’s personal record file that follows them throughout their transition from room to room.

The charts allow us to monitor the progress your Child makes covering their physical, mathematical, language and communication, social and emotional development as well as monitoring the progress that they make with their feeding and toileting skills.  We also record the progress made with your Child’s hand eye co-ordination and fine motor skills.

Our staff records this and then plan activities alongside their observations for your Child to engage and improve identified areas through play.

Kiddies Lounge Pre - School Day Nursery develops good relationship with all parents. Your Child’s key worker will arrange a 10 minute appointment with you to discuss development and progress of your Child.

Prior to Child starting School, parents would be given an appointment to discuss any concerns, progress and development of their Child with the nursery manager or key worker.

Termly ( 4 month) reports will be written, with copies put into your Child’s developmental files. Upon writing the last report before the Child leaves to attend School, we will send reports to their new reception teacher, outlining achievement areas and the stepping stone level they are working at with parents’ permission.
